Weight gain

I can't believe this.

I just stepped on a scale near my co-worker's desk and was shocked when the needle went past 125, past 130 and right on up to 140! Well, 139 to be exact.

Now, I will admit that I haven't weighed myself for over a year. The last time I went to the doctor I weighed in at about 127.

I knew I had gained some weight lately, but 139?!

An exercise plan is in the works for sure. The problem is I'm not very disciplined. It's hard for me to stay with a routine, so these next few weeks that I try to implement one will be more than a little difficult.

Any advice, or motivation, is much appreciated.

Don't worry. I know EXACTLY how you feel. I'm at the 140 mark too. First off, if it helps you feel any better, you still look really good. I'm pretty sure Martin tells you that all the time too. I saw the pics you put up earlier and I think you look really good and all, even with the little weight gain. I might even like it a little better. But anyway, if you're like me and start thinking that if you keep averaging this type of weight gain every year, who knows if you'll be able to walk through your front door comfortably in about 10 years??? I think you can try to make some small changes first. Cause one thing I can't do is diet. You can try to stop eating after 6 or 7. Try to eat more meals a day, just in smaller portions. Breakfast is a must. If you're eating a sandwich, maybe try to take the top piece of bread off, and just eat it open. Instead of eating until you're full, try stopping right before it. Try to cook your own meals, and increase the veggie portions. Have smaller portions of meats, starches, and carbs. If that isn't a option to cook yourself, try healthier fast food options. For exercising recently I've got a jump rope. I haven't used it yet, but I really will in the near future. My point is to try to start changing some small things in your life with eating habits and exercising. Once you start noticing changes, maybe with just how you are sleeping better and are more attentive in the day, maybe it will help motivate you to do more. Good luck!!!

First of all, to make you feel better — from looking at those pics of you and your pals, I could not tell you had gained any weight.
Also, I've pretty much experienced the same problem in the last couple years since leaving college, but have only in the last couple months started to really do something about it. With our hectiv schedules, it is easy to get into bad habits (i.e. eating out too much, not working out, eating fast food, drinking a lot of alcohol on the weekends.) So, I joined the YMCA in my community and try to go as often as I can. I have a neighbor that goes with me and we try to encourage each other to get up early in the a.m. and go. It is pretty amazing - it actually did not take that long for me to see results, which encourages me to go more. Good luck!

i know i am late responding :) but if you create a routine for yourself it will be easier to exercise... do what is best for your schedule... either before bed or in the morning (it is suppose to boost your metabolism). I also found out recently that on demand has the fit channel so you can do pilates in your living room :)

yay !
